SULLY - Lonnie Clarence Stewart, 48, of Sully, died Thursday, July 12, at Pella Regional Health Center.

His funeral service was held this morning, July 16, at Sully Community Church in Sully. The body was to be cremated after the funeral. Memorials: Pella Regional Health Center Renal Dialysis Unit. Sully Chapel Funeral Home in Sully is in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Clarence Stewart was born Jan. 9, 1953, in Des Moines. On July 14, 1973, he married Nancy Bowers in Melcher. He had lived 12 years in Sully, and previously lived in Melcher. He was a forklift driver for Pella Corp., and retired in 1987. He was a Civil War buff and loved woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Sully; a son, Jeremy Stewart of West Des Moines; a daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Doug McClelland of Sully; a granddaughter, RaeAnna McClelland of Sully; his mother, Jean Stewart of Mesa, Ariz.; his father-in-law, Joseph Bowers of Melcher; a brother, Howard Stewart of Marshalltown; and a sister, Susan Stewart of Gilbert, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Rusty" Stewart; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Bowers.
