Norman K. Winter, 74, of 114 E. Seventh St. N. died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Newton Union Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Schutty of Oskaloosa officiating. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name or to Progress Industries.

The son of Orville and Maime (Davis) Winter, he was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Panora. He graduated from Panora Senior High School in 1948.

On Dec. 16, 1950, he married Maxine Starling in Newton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in television services and was employed by Johnson Television and Don's Electronics Town & Country in Newton. He enjoyed electronics.

Survivors include a son, Kirby (Kay) Winter of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter, Kaye Winter of Newton and Kiff (Brad) Server of Louisburg, Kan.; four grandchildren; and one brother, Keith Winter of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
