Robert “Rob” Douglas Trotter, 52, of Newton died on Monday, October 10, 2022. A celebration of life will be held from 3-7 p.m., Saturday, October 15, at the VFW in Newton. Memorials in Rob’s name may be left at the VFW or the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (checks made payable to Vanessa Trotter).

Rob, the son of Doug and Anita (Nelson) Trotter, was born on March 13, 1970 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1989 and later from Automotive Technician trade school in Laramie, Wyoming. He worked as a diesel mechanic at Housby Mack for several years. Rob enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, tinkering with things, and riding his motorcycle.

Rob is survived by his two daughters, Vanessa Trotter (Devin Hoksbergen) of Newton and Chelsea (Trent) Salsman of Clovis, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Layne Trotter, Naliapon Hoksbergen, and Maverick Salsman; his sister, Lisa Kruse of Newton; and niece and nephew, Maddison and Michael Kruse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Anita Trotter and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
