Set Services for Bertha M. Rice
Services for Mrs. Bertha M. Rice, 69, of 1445 Ninth St., will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Rice died Friday at Iowa Methodist Hospital after a two-year illness.
A native of Jasper county, Mrs. Rice had lived in Des Moines 31 years. She was a member of Highland Park Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, William R.; two sons, Floyd Rice, Des Moines, and Wesley Rice, Harlingen, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Farmer, Mrs. Mayme Decker, Mrs. Emma Albright, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Joyce Taylor, Sigourney; a sister, Mrs. Ida Curry, Newton; a brother, Harold Fleming, Bondurant; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
