Amber Lynn Gandy, 16-year-old daughter of Douglas and Cynthia Gandy of 2324 Lyon St., died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. The cause of death is unknown, pending the results of an autopsy. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery.
Miss Gandy was born in Des Moines and had lived in the area most of her life. She was a junior at East High School, where she was a member of the choir. She formerly attended Carlisle High School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Dawn Porter and Brandy Porter, both of Des Moines; and her grandparents, Gilbert and Ina Williams and Leorine Busick, all of Des Moines, Shirley Gandy of Altoona and Charles Gandy of Pulaski.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to East High School Music Department or Carlisle High School Music Department.
