Mayme R. Decker, 85, of Madrid died of pneumonia Friday at the Madrid Home, where she had lived for a month. The body will be cremated and memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial of the cremains will be at Vandalia Cemetery in Runnells.
Mrs. Decker was born in Taber, Alberta, and had lived in Des Moines most of her life before moving to Madrid. She was a retired Northwestern Bell supervisor and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and Capitol Heights Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Downey of Des Moines; three sisters, Ethel Coen and Emma Rogers, both of Des Moines, and Joyce Tabor of Washington, Ia.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
