James W. Breese Sr., 57, of 9261 S.E. 56th Ave. died Sunday at home of carbon monoxide poisoning. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in Vandalia Cemetery. Dr. R. C. Wooters, Polk County medical examiner, ruled the death a suicide.
Mr. Breese lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had been a mechanic and welder for Fruehauf for 15 years and was a member of the International Order of Machinists.
Survivors include five sons, James Jr., Mike and Pat, all of Des Moines, Allen of Bondurant and Steve of Solon; a daughter, Kitty Wheat of Clearwater, Fla.; his father, Everett of Runnells; a sister, Marian Dawson of Des Moines; a brother, Dave of Altoona; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
