March 7, 1930 ~ October 5, 2022 (age 92)

Marjorie L. Ver Schuur, 92, of Colfax died on Thursday, October 5, 2022, at Newton Health Care Center. A private family graveside will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Memorials to Suncrest Hospice or Newton Health Care Center Activities Fund may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Marjorie, the daughter of Pearl and Florence Rodgers, was born on March 7, 1930 in Lucas. She grew up in Lucas and her family later moved to Newton. On July 5, 1947, Marjorie was united in marriage with Garrit Ver Schuur in Newton. The made their home in Reasnor and Newton. During that time, Marjorie worked at Newton Manufacturing. They later moved to Texas for 10 years. While there, Marjorie worked in catering for Abbott Laboratories. They returned to Iowa in the late 1990’s, residing in Colfax. Marjorie was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Dave) Morgan of Colfax; grandchildren, Jason (Allison) Morgan of Newton and Amy (Mike) Duffy of Colfax; and her great-grandchildren, Alec, Abby, Nic, and Cale. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garrit Ver Schuur; her brother, Richard Rodgers; and two sisters, Edna Stewart and Evelyn Rodgers.
