Rhonda Kay (Davis) Cupples, 62, of Newton died on Monday, October 3, 2022, at her home in Newton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 6, at the funeral home. Memorials in Rhonda’s name (checks made payable to Patrick Cupples) may be left at the funeral home.

Rhonda, the daughter of Paul C. and Patty Ann (Repp) Davis, was born on January 14, 1960 in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Newton, graduating in the Newton High School class of 1978. She later received her AA from DMACC. On November 22, 1980, Rhonda was united in marriage with Patrick Cupples at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton. They were blessed with one son, Brian. Rhonda was working as the Office Manager for American Family Insurance in Newton and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Rhonda’s greatest love in life was her granddaughter, Mackenzie. They loved playing board games together and going dress shopping. Rhonda and Patrick enjoyed camping, especially during the Jasper County Fair. They also liked to play pitch and their Saturday night games with friends could get quite competitive.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Patrick Cupples; son, Brian (Heather) Cupples; her granddaughter, Mackenzie Cupples; and her sister, Tina Davis, all of Newton. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Trent; and grandparents, Carl and Irene Repp and Handy and Else Davis.
