Martha J. Leonard, 86, of Heather Manor, 600 E. Fifth St., died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ashton Cemetery near Mingo, with burial at Ashton Cemetery there.
Miss Leonard was born near Collins and had lived in the Des Moines area since 1983. She was a retired teacher, having taught kindergarten at Adams School in Des Moines, and was a member of the Des Moines Retired Teachers Association, the Methodist Church and the Blank Guild.
She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Leonard of Mingo and Joseph Leonard of Maxwell; and a sister, Mary Leonard of Des Moines.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, where the family will be present. Memorial contributions may be made to Ashton Chapel.
