Carl W. Young, 82, of 3727 E. Chicago Ave. died of cancer Friday at his home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial at Ashton Cemetery near Mingo.
Mr. Young was born near Mingo and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was the owner of a tree service and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include six sons, Charles, Jennis, Sylvanus, Carl, Perry and Clifford, all of Des Moines; two daughters, Vera Ingersoll of Canton, Ga., and Sue Ella Jackson of Bessemer City, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
