Ruth Sonner, 77, of 3615 Cambridge St. died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ashton Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Sonner was born near Collins and had lived in Des Moines many years. She was a retired elementary school teacher and guidance counselor and a member of the American Bible Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Drake University Mary Kunkel Society and Retired Teacher Association.
Survivors include her husband, David; and two brothers, Ralph Maxwell of Mingo and Forrest Maxwell of Collins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.

Graveside services were held Monday, September 25, 1995 with interment in Ashton Chapel Cemetery, Mingo, Iowa
She is survived by her husband, David Sonner ; two brothers, Ralph and Forrest Maxwell and many nieces and nephews.
