Leona Ruth Graham, 81, of Story City and formerly of Collins passed away March 4, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Story City. A Celebration of Life service will by April 9, 2022 at 11 am at Bible Faith Church in Story City. Burial will be in the Graham Cemetery near Mingo, Iowa.
Leona was born on April 21, 1940 in Warren County, Iowa to Maurice Burbon and Audery Louise (Weaver) Wise. She married Alan Lee Graham on August 27, 1971. He passed away May 2, 2014.
Leona was a homemaker and later worked at R.H. Donnelley Marketing in Nevada. She moved to Story City after Alan died in 2014 and joined Bible Faith Church. Leona enjoyed collecting rocks and leaves and painting pine cones. She loved to cook and spending time with family and friends at Lake Rathbun at their cabin.
Leona is survived by her children, James Johnson of Collins, Diane (Brian) Peter of Story City, Michael Johnson of Collins and Robert (Pam) Johnson of Texas; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and three sisters, Myrna (Vic) Capanigro of Illinois, Janet (Jim) Lockwood of Cedar Rapids and Margaret Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Isiah Peter; brother, Marvin Wise and sister Julie Wise. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
