Martin S. C. Funk Died March 7th
Martin S. C. Funk, 92, a resident of Mingo since 1925, died Wednesday, March 7 at the Jasper County Home in Newton.
Walters Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Survivors are a son, Howard of Carson City, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Mae) Turner of Evansdale and Mrs. Lea Burns of Mingo; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Aug. 21, 1961, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
The son of John and Susan Brubaker Funk, he was born Jan. 18, 1881 in Stockton, Calif.
He was married to Edna Mae Streeter Oct. 12, 1902 in Mingo.
Services were held at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax Saturday, March 10, 1973 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Robert Hinshaw of Kellogg conducted the services.
Bearers were: Joe Beem, Charles Gobert, Jim Dannels, Tom Davenport Jr., Ray Hippen, John Osborn, and V. B. Womeldorff.
Interment was in Ashton Cemetery, Mingo.
