Accident Fatal to Colfax Woman
Mrs. James Good Killed in Accident Friday Evening
Mrs. James (Rose May) Good, 46, was killed in a one car accident about 10:30 p.m. Friday, on the Oswalt road north of Colfax. She was on the way to her work as night cook at Pat and Mel’s Restaurant just north of Colfax, when the accident occurred. It is not known what caused the accident.
The oldest daughter of Simon and Mary Teed Sager, she was born June 10, 1920 at Mingo, Iowa, and had lived in the Colfax area most of her lifetime.
She was married to John Wesley Good, December 24, 1936. To this union seven children were born, Jack of Massachusetts, Carolyn Sue Weithers of Colfax, Robert Eugene of Florida, Mary Elizabeth of Fayette, Richard Allan, James Alford of Colfax. One son died in infancy.
In 1955 she was married to James Good at Trenton, Mo. Three children were born to this union. They are Leona Christena, Matilda Kay and James Leonard, all at home.
In addition to her husband, James, and nine children, she is survived by her parents, a brother, James Harvey Sager of Mingo and three sisters, Mrs. Kermit Wickett, Mrs. Robert Gulling and Mrs. Larry Dobson, all of Colfax.
One brother, Norman, preceded her in death in 1966.
He was a member of the Pocahontas Lodge of Colfax.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6th at 2 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax. Rev. Charles Wilder, minister of the Colfax Baptist Church, conducted the services.
The pallbearers were Jack Borts, James Borts, Norman Bowman, Harold Gideon, Paul Hill and Ralph Maxwell.
Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Norman Bowman and Mrs. Thomas Owens.
Burial was in Ashton Chapel Cemetery at Mingo, Iowa.
