Carl V. Staker, Mingo Resident, Dies in Florida
Mingo – Carl Victor Staker, 68, retired Mingo area farmer, died this morning at Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Staker was spending the winter months in Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mingo Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Greencastle Cemetery.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home at Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Staker is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Gray of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a sister, Miss Lois Staker of Davenport and a brother, John T. Staker of San Mateo, Calif., and four grandchildren.
Mr. Staker was a native of the Mingo community.

Carl V. Staker Mingo Resident Died Saturday
Carl Victor Staker, 68, retired Mingo area farmer, died Saturday morning, April 4th at Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Staker and wife were spending the winter months in Florida, as they had the past several winters.
Mr. Staker was born May 27, 1895 near Colfax. He farmed near Mingo until 1939 when he moved into Mingo. He was married to Pearl Battles, February 28, 1917.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Gray of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a sister, Miss Lola Staker of Davenport; a brother, John T. Staker of San Mateo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist Church at Mingo. Rev. Max Hall conducted the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Dale Harter.
Bearers: Russell Southern, Paul Heffelfinger, Orlo Southern, Lyle Pulley, Reid Rumbaugh and Jack Womeldorff.
Burial was in the Greencastle Cemetery.
