Mamie Bengston Died Monday
Mrs. Mamie Bengtson, 65, Colo, died Monday afternoon at Story County Hospital, Nevada.
Born at Collins, she was a 1919 graduate of Collins High School. She attended Ellsworth College, Cedar Falls, for two years and then taught school in Story and in Hoard counties.
She and Theodore Bengtson were married in 1928, and the couple farmed in Howard County until 1939. They also lived in the Collins and Mingo areas before they moved to a farm near Colo in 1948.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore; four sons, Leonard of Nevada, Edgar of 1719 Douglas Ave., Wendell of Delavan, Minn. and Leon of Colo; seven grandchildren and a brother, Clarence Jeffers, Kansas City, Kan. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home, Baxter. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery at Baxter.
