Kenneth, the son of Lloyd and Anna (Weymore) Landgrebe, was born on August 22, 1932 in Rose Hill. As a child, his family moved to Centerville, where Kenneth would grow up. Kenneth began his 30-year career at the Maytag Company in Newton in 1950. On July 12, 1952, he was united in marriage with Thelma Vestal. They made their home in Newton. Kenneth was then called to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from December of 1952 to May of 1954. Upon returning from the service and still continuing to work for Maytag, in 1965, Kenneth and Thelma would purchase farmland, and Kenneth would also farm for the rest of his life. In 1980, he retired from Maytag. Kenneth and Thelma enjoyed spending many winters together in Texas.

Kenneth was a man of many interests that included hunting, camping vacations with his family, owning vintage cars and taking them to car shows, raising mules and miniature horses, tractor pulls and going to races. He enjoyed being a part of parades; with his cars, wagons, or horses, and really liked participating in activities at the Old Threshers Days in Mount Pleasant. Kenneth was a giving man that always lent a hand to anyone in need. He was a member of the Jasper County Church of Christ, New Life Community Church of the Nazarene, and the UAW Local 997.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Vickie Crutchfield of Kellogg, Larry Landgrebe of Monroe, Gary (Melody) Landgrebe of Newton, Jerry (Marcie) Landgrebe of Newton, and Melinda Kirtley of Melcher Dallas; 13 grandchildren, Dale, Heather, Larry, Jr., Aubrey, Edna, Audrey, Beatrice, Kenneth, Kerri, Brad, Jeff, Jennifer, and Christin; his 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald (Theola) Landgrebe, Marilyn Strickler, Bill Landgrebe, Donnie Landgrebe, Marlene (Ron) West, Karen Elliott, Connie (John) Mills, Linda Edwards, Dean Landgrebe, Steven (Debbie) Landgrebe, and Sheryl (Joe) Sckerbink; sister-in-law, Betty Landgrebe; and his many nieces and nephews.
