Bertha Bohne, 64, Dies Today; Rites Set for Tuesday
Mrs. Bertha M. Bohne, 64, lifetime Jasper county resident, died at her home at 732 North Second Avenue East at 7:45 a.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zoar Reformed church with the Rev. Russell Miller officiating. A prayer service will be held at Morgan-Loehr funeral home immediately preceding the funeral service at the church.
Survivors are her husband, George W. Bohne; one daughter, Mrs. Marcus (Elenora) Schild of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Eilert and Mrs. Albert Bollhoefer, both of Newton; two brothers, Arthur and Elmer Achtemeier, both of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bohne was born to William and Minnie Propp Achtemeier on a farm 12 miles north of Newton on Nov. 11, 1890. She married George W. Bohne Dec. 14, 1919. They lived on a farm until moving to Newton 35 years ago.
Burial will be in Zoar cemetery. Morgan-Loehr funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bertha Bohne Buried Today in Zoar Cemetery
Mrs. Bertha M. Bohne, 64, who died Saturday after a lifetime in the county, was buried today in services conducted by the Rev. Russell Miller of the Zoar Reformed church.
Burial was in the Zoar cemetery under the direction of the Morgan-Loehr Funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Bohne were Walter Damman, Edgar Sersland, Fred Meyer, H. A. Lynn, Fred Klein, and Ed Herzog.
In charge of flowers were Mrs. Fred Damman, Mrs. George Swalwell and Mrs. Henry Tiedje.
The funeral was attended in a group by members of the Veterans of foreign Wars auxiliary.
