Rites Held For Jessie Shuey
Mrs. Ernie (Jessie) Shuey, 90, of Marshalltown, died June 11 at the hospital in that city. She had been a resident of the Marshalltown Manor for the past six years.
She was born August 14, 1890 near Baxter. On January 12, 1910 she was united in marriage to Ernie Shuey and they lived on a farm near Collins. To this union one daughter Gwendolyn was born. Upon retiring the couple moved to Collins in 1965. Ernie passed away in 1968.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and Lucian Hinecker of Marshalltown, two sisters, Mrs. Alta Nicodemus of Colfax and Mrs. Ora Hanson of Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Ida Mae Hampton Signs, her husband, one brother, Edd Signs and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Pearl) Jones.
Funeral services were held Sunday June 14 at the Collins Christian Church, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.
