Eldon H. Cassady Dies Tuesday; Services Friday
Eldon Howard Cassady, 39, of 1121 E. 8th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1951, died Tuesday afternoon enroute to the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Charles N. Curtis, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
Survivors are his wife, Maxine; five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Vickie) Wells, Mrs. Danny (Debbie) Agan, Mrs. Harold (Linda) Henning, Gay Cassady and Kelli Cassady, all of Newton; four grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Cassady of Earlham, Elmer Cassady of Van Meter and Wyman Cassady of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Williams, of Hornell, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Cassady was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mr. Cassady served in the U.S. Air Force.
He had been employed as an inspector at Maytag Plant 2.
The son of Howard Alvin and Fanny Lenze Cassady, he was born May 11, 1932 at Adel and attended Adel schools.
He was married to Maxine Hodges Sept. 13, 1953 at Jackson, Minn.
