Rites Wednesday For Odie Oliver
Services for Odie Oliver, 63, of 909 E. Twenty-sixth Court, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia cemetery. Mr. Oliver died of cancer Saturday at home after a lengthy illness.
A Des Moines resident 31 years, Mr. Oliver formerly was employed by the Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co. He was a World War I veteran, a member of Masonic Home Lodge No. 370, and First Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Oliver; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Estes; and three grandchildren, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Gus, of Knox City, Mo., and Harvey, of Anaconda, Mont.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Carder and Mrs. Neva Gerdwin, of Missouri; Mrs. Leta Gunderson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Edith Oliver, Los Angeles, Cal.
