Minnie Louden Dies Sunday; Rites Tuesday
Newburg – Mrs. Carl (Minnie Mae) Louden, 91, of Friendship Manor in Grinnell, a resident of the Newburg Community from 1913 to 1942, died Sunday at the Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. Robert L. Hampel, pastor of the Newburg United Church of Christ, and the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the Grinnell United Church of Christ, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the Grinnell General Hospital will be accepted.
Survivors are her husband; four sons, Charles of Kenton, Tex., Hugh and Warren, both of rural Grinnell, and Donald of Grinnell; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. Winifred Fulmer of Palm Springs, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Mrs. Louden, who had taught schools in Iowa and Poweshiek Counties, was a member of the Newburg United Church of Christ.
The daughter of Christian and Clara Stoner Keil, she was born Oct. 11, 1884 in Ladora and attended school in Iowa County and the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls.
She was married Mar. 25, 1908.
The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year.
