Ione Toye, 80, Dies Sunday; Rites Wednesday
Mrs. Ernest J. (Ione) Toye, 80, of 1326 1st Ave. E., a resident of Newton for approximately 50 years, died Sunday evening at the Marshalltown Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Survivors are two sons, Wesley of Des Moines and Leslie of Garden Grove, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Mildred) Ernst of Adair, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Tysseling of Des Moines, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Filden of Beloit, Wis., Mrs. Betty Millard of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Charles (Donna) Tabor of Newton; 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ralph Wilson of Topeka, Kan., and Henry Wilson of Twin Falls, Idaho, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Nina) Brown of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Bartos (Hazel) Brown of Jennings, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1958, grandson, a great-grandson and three brothers, Clarence and Jim, both of Newton, and Roy of Osborne, Kan.
Mrs. Toye was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Frank and Nora Finley Wilson, she was born June 20, 1895 in Lovilia.
She was married Feb. 20, 1917.
