Ethel McMains Dies Saturday; Services Today
Lynnville – Funeral services for Mrs. Carl (Ethel) McMains, 88, of Lynnville, were held today at the Lynnville Friends Church.
The Rev. Earnest Thompson, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.
Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon handled arrangements.
Survivors are four sons, Dale of Sun Valley, Calif., Ray of Newton, Paul of Jerseyville, Ill.; and Warner of Pinole, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Velma) Scull of Port Isabel, Tex., Mrs. Larry (Maxine) Hamilton of San Pablo, Calif., Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Gifford of Pella, and Mrs. Jim (Doris) Lawrence of New Orleans, la.; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Joe Sarvis of Yuba, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Harris of Summerville, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter.
The daughter of Sylvestra and Mary Paradise Sarvis, she was born July 23, 1888 at Barnes City.
She was married Nov. 15, 1900 at Oskaloosa.
