Mary H. Rogers Dies Thursday; Services Tuesday
Mrs. Donald (Mary Helen) Rogers, 39, of Hillcrest Motel, a longtime resident of Colfax and Newton, died Thursday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are her husband, Donald; three sons, Okey Oren Hanen, Danny Dean Hanen and Troy Scott, all of Newton; a daughter, Terri Lynn Scott of Newton; four stepsons, William Doyle Rogers, Kenneth Wayne Rogers, Jimmy Dale Rogers and Ricky Lee Rogers, all of Monroe; two step-daughters, Mrs. Martha Marie Hatley of Mississippi and Debbie Kay Rogers of Monroe; and her mother, Mrs. Peter (Edith) Dhondt of Newton.
Also surviving are two brothers, Dan Dhondt of Malcom and Peter Dhondt Jr. of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Wendell (Lauretta) Morris and Mrs. Joe (Marie) Gobb, both of Newton, and Mrs. Don (Mildred) Andrews of Grinnell; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Garwood of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by her father March, 1961, and an infant daughter.
The daughter of Peter A. and Edith Ruth McDowell Dhondt, she was born Sept. 16, 1936 in Iowa City.
She was married July 9, 1973 in Grinnell.
