Harry Butler Services Set For Thursday
Baxter – Funeral services for Harry W. Butler, 75, a longtime Baxter area farmer, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, retired pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Fern; three sons, Burton of Cedar Rapids, Roger of Baxter and Jerry of Newton; a daughter, Jacquelyn Butler of Baxter; five grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Fred, both of Baxter; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ailen) Kaufman of Schenectady, N.Y., and Mrs. Wesley (Mabel) Hill of Conway, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Mr. Butler was a member of the Angus Cattle Association, Masonic Lodge No. 520 AF and AM, United Church of Christ Congregation and Farm Bureau and had been a 4-H leader for many years.
The son of George Charles and Martha Frances Phipps Butler, he was born Dec. 18, 1900 at Baxter and was educated in Baxter schools.
He was married to Fern Berry Mar. 11, 1931 at Des Moines.
He died Tuesday at his home.
