James A. Roe Dies Monday; Rites Wednesday
James A. Roe, 78, formerly of 127 W. 10th St. N., a resident of Newton for 28 years, died Monday afternoon at the Northwest Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral home.
The Rev. Gregory Caldwell, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Survivors are a son, James N. of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene, in February, 1972; a daughter, Arlene Dickkut of Marshalltown in 1960; two sisters; and a brother.
Mr. Roe, a member of the First United Methodist Church, was a retired employe of the Maytag Co.
The son of James E. and Minnie Reinbrecht Roe, he was born Nov. 18, 1897 in Buffalo.
He was married to Arlene J. Newton Sept. 17, 1919 at Marshalltown.
