Bertha Birkenholz Dies Recently; Rites Conducted
Prairie City – Funeral services for Bertha M. Birkenholz, 72, of Clear View Manor in Prairie City, a resident of Prairie City for 24 years and lifelong resident of Jasper County, were held recently at the Church of the Brethren, south of Prairie City.
The Rev. William Miller, pastor of the church conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Survivors are three brothers, Louis Birkenholz of Prairie City, Fred Birkenholz of Des Moines and Lawrence Birkenholz of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lucy) Van tome of Prairie City and Mrs. David (Mary) Rexroat of Monroe.
Mrs. Birkenholz was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
The daughter of Fred C. and Mary Kathryn Wilhelm, she was born Feb. 21, 1903 at Monroe.
