Clarence Von Hagen Dies This Morning; Services on Friday
Baxter-Ira – Clarence Von Hagen, 69, of Baxter, a longtime resident of the Baxter and Ira communities, died this morning at the Colonial Manor in Baxter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, retired pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Bernice; a son, Lloyd of Des Moines; and a brother, Harry Von Hagen of Baxter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a brother in 1969.
Mr. Von Hagen, a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, was employed by the Jeffiers Produce Co. for 20 years and by the Maytag Co. in Newton for 19 years, retiring in 1969.
The son of Adam and Laura Diehl Von Hagen, he was born July 29, 1906 near Baxter and was educated in Baxter schools.
He was married to Bernice Beals June 14, 1923 at Newton.
