Nellie Gladson Dies Sunday; Rites Wednesday
Baxter – Mrs. Nellie Gladson, 85, of Baxter died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, retired pastor of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery near Baxter.
Survivors are two sons, Byron Slults of Newport, Wash.; and William Slults of Spokane, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Landes of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. John (Florene) Burkhardt of Newton and Mrs. James Abbott of Harrington, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Cool of Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Gladson, a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, operated a nursing home in Rhodes for a number of years.
The daughter of Frank and Mary Thorp Collins, she was born July 19, 1891 in Monroe County.
