Scottsdale, Ariz. – Thomas C. Mickle, 40, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Newton, was killed Friday evening, Feb. 19, in Scottsdale in a heavy equipment accident.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Newton First United Methodist Church.
Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the church, will conduct services.
Private committal will be held in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is in charge of Newton arrangements.
Survivors are two sons, Thomas J. Mickle of Colorado, and Travis Mickle of West Des Moines; and a daughter, Ellie Jo Mickle of West Des Moines.
Also surviving are his father, Thomas Edward Mickle of Newton; his mother, Opal (Mrs. Don) Halsey of Newton; a brother, John Edward of Clinton, Mo,; and a sister, Kathleen (Mrs. Jon) Christy of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Luella Mickle.
Mr. Mickle was a heavy equipment operator.
The son of Thomas Edward and Opal Wilson Mickle, he was born Feb. 5, 1948 in Newton and was graduated from Newton Community High School in 1966.
He resided most of his life in Newton.
