Charlene Helen Vesely, 75, of Newton, IA passed away May 19, 2022 at Accura Healthcare of Newton.
Charlene was born February 15, 1947 in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of William “Bill” and Helen (Hansen) Macek. She attended country schools until 8th grade; then to Belle Plaine High School, class of 1965. On May 6, 1972 Charlene united in marriage to Leonard Vesely. They were blessed with their son Jeremy in 1975. Charlene worked as a secretary for Newton Manufacturing and a bookkeeper for United Land Title Co., before retiring from Jasper County Court House Recorder’s office.
Charlene loved listing to music, reading, spending time at the farm, traveling with Leonard and a good bond fire with friends. She was a member of our Savior Lutheran Church, Newton.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard of Newton; son, Jeremy (Emily) Vesely of Newton; granddaughter, Leia and brother, Virgil Macek.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at National Cemetery, Vining, IA.
