Sophie Delaine Brown, daughter of Sam and Taylor (Van Roekel) Brown, was born on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa. Sophie was called to Heaven the following day, after her family welcomed her into this world.

Surviving Sophie are her parents, Sam and Taylor Brown of Nashua, Iowa; her older brother, Simon; maternal grandparents, Bradley and Mary Jo (Van Ryswyk) Van Roekel of Monroe, Iowa; paternal grandparents Matt and Kori Brown of Wilton, Iowa and Gretchen Brown-Waech of Des Moines, Iowa; maternal uncle, Jordan Van Roekel of Monroe; paternal aunt Charlotte Brown of Wilton, Iowa and uncles Noah Brown of Wilton, Iowa, and Morgan Brown of Tyler, Texas; maternal great-grandparents, Janice Van Roekel of Monroe and John and Kay Van Ryswyk of Monroe, Iowa; paternal great-grandparents Jim and Connie Brown of Wilton, Iowa and Don and LeAnn Rahlf of Wilton, Iowa. Sophie was preceded in death by her paternal great grandfather, Merritt Van Roekel.
