Rites Held For Mrs. Lydia Jontz
Mrs. Earl (Lydia) Jontz, 85, of Colonial Manor in Baxter, a longtime resident of Jasper County, died Thursday, July 2, at the Manor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at the Evangelical Free Church. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Pastor Marion Sechler conducted the services. Donn Mackerman was organist.
Pallbearers were Charles Korte, Morris Korte, Clyde Jontz, Warren Jontz, Dennis Koon and Vernon Schmidt.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Swallwell, Calvin Breer, Walter Schmidt, Charles Jontz, Ed Jontz and Hugh Jontz.
Survivors are a son, Max Jontz of Baxter; and a daughter, Mrs. Don (Wanda) Mackerman of Newton; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, David Boedeker of Vancouver, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
The daughter of August and Elizabeth Boedeker, she was born June 29, 1894 near Laurel.
She was married Feb. 28, 1913 at the L. S. Jontz home in rural Baxter.
