June 09, 1930 - February 20, 2022

Walta 'June' Buckley, 91, died Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Prairie Vista Village in Altoona. June was born June 09, 1930 in Kellogg, Iowa to Leslie and Muriel Wertz. She taught in a one room school house before meeting and marrying Arnold Buckley on November 11, 1949. June was a homemaker and enjoyed making amazing birthday and wedding cakes. In earlier years she enjoyed square dancing, quilting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include: Marsha (Ben) Von Ruden, Donna Burt, Tammy (Dave) Cooper all of Altoona, Pat (Bruce) Davidson of Pleasant Hill, Darwin (Shelley) Buckley of Des Moines, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a sister.

June will be laid to rest with a graveside service at McKeever Cemetery near Colfax on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sunnyside.
