The daughter of William "Bill" and Ada (Stravers) Clymer, Norma was born on November 17, 1929 in Colfax. Norma graduated from Newton High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. She worked as an accountant at Massey-Feguson for several years and then at Adsrus Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2017.

Norma always joked that "work" was her hobby and her vacation--She loved accounting, especially bank reconciliation! She also loved to read, especially history and biographies, and she was an enthusiastic and skillful card player. She looked forward to taking her grandchildren, and, later, great grandchildren to dinner, introducing them to the finest dining Des Moines has to offer. In later years, she enjoyed a tour of France, Switzerland, Italy, and Monte Carlo. She also enjoyed shorter, briefer trips to visit her out-of-state daughters and grandchildren. As her health declined, her favorite outing was to Skip's restaurant to visit her many friends there and enjoy the fabulous food.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Mike, Sue, and Kevin Lister; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Jeff Lister and a brother, Melby Clymer.
