George L. Miller Dies at Hospital; Private Services
George Lewis Miller, 83, of 415 N. Second Ave. W., died Friday morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Private cremation services will be held for Mr. Miller, who was a resident of Newton for the past 64 years.
The casket will not be opened at any time.
Memorial contributions to the Cancer Fund will be accepted.
Toland funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Ivy Irene; a son, Ralph of Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Mahl of Beloit, Wis., Mrs. Lawrence (Irene) Linden of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Robert (Georgina) Brown of Beloit, Wis.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Carl Miller of Quinter, Kan.; and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Kunkle of Tescot, Kan., and Mrs. Elizabeth Behler of Bellgarden, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge and Modern Woodmen as well as the Maytag 25-Year Club.
Mr. Miller was a pattern maker before his retirement from the Maytag Co.
The son of Henry and Mary Bisterfelt Miller, he was born July 12, 1881 in Russell County, Kan.
He was married to Ivy Irene Brooks March 18, 1908 in Essex, England.
