John Gould, 72, Dies Tuesday; Services Friday
Services for John Gould, 72, a former resident of Colfax for 35 years, who died Tuesday at the Iowa Soldier’s Home in Marshalltown, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
Reverend Marlow Reinholdt will officiate. Burial will be at the McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Gould had been a patient at the soldier’s home for the last 14 months. His home was in Des Moines.
Gould was born on Dec. 11, 1891, at Oswalt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gould. He was married to Clarice Barker on May 10, 1927 at Indianola. He was a Veteran of World War I.
Gould is survived by his wife and his children – Mrs. Ted Hesseltine, Mrs. Lillian Bucklin, Ronald E. Gould, and Phyllis Kathryn Gould all of Des Moines; James Gould of Mitchellville and a stepson George Barker of Colfax.
Also, surviving him are two brothers, William Gould of Des Moines and LeRoy Gould of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Goff of Des Moines, and 13 grandchildren.
