February 12, 1938 - December 23, 2021

Eleanor Dean Douglas, age 83 of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kim Beard or Moving Marky's Mountains. The daughter of Paul and Lena (Oliver) Guinn, Eleanor was born on February 12, 1938 in Dean, Iowa. She graduated from Moulton High School. On December 24, 1954 she was united in marriage to Willard Douglas. This would have been their 67th wedding anniversary. She was a homemaker and babysitter. She loved to cook for her family and friends and country music. Eleanor also loved a clean house and to shop at the Newton Fareway, always talking to the men behind the meat counter. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her children, Randy (Karen) Douglas and Kim (Ty) Beard; grandchildren, Matt (Laura) Douglas, Mike Douglas, and Randi (Adam) Williams; great grandchildren, Gavin, Isaac, Daxton and Gentry Dean. Also surviving are her sisters, LuCene (Jack) Whistler and Frani (Jerry) Probasco and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, daughter, Melissa and sisters, Helen Pedrick and Billie Jo Jay.
