Pamela K (Clement) Porter, 72, of Newton, died on Monday, December 13, 2021, at MercyOne Des Moines. Memorials in Pamela’s name (checks made payable to Tammy McElroy or Robert Porter) may be left at the funeral home.

Pamela, the daughter of Robert D. and Dorothy (Illingsworth) Clement, was born on July 12, 1949, in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1968. Pamela was united in marriage with Thomas C. Porter, and they raised two children together: Tammy and Robert. Pamela worked as a door greeter at Walmart and enjoyed working as a seamstress in her spare time. Pamela also loved animals, especially cats, dogs, and birds.

Pamela is survived by her children, Tammy (Jeffrey) McElroy of Colfax and Robert Porter of Colfax; granddaughter, Kara Hicks of Colfax; brother, Rick Clement of Newton; sister, JoAnn Vaneck of Pleasantville; and mother, Dorothy Clement of Newton. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Clement; husband, Thomas C. Porter; and brother-in-law, Johnny Vaneck.
