Stanley H. Byal, Longtime Mingo Resident, Dies
Mingo – Stanley Henry Byal, 59, rural Mingo, lifelong resident of Mingo, died this morning at Skiff Memorial Hospital, Newton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ashton Chapel Church near Mingo.
The Rev. Robert Hinshaw, minister of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Mingo.
Memorial contributions to the Cancer Fund will be accepted.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home, Baxter, is handling arrangements.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
Surviving are his widow, Faye; a son, Richard Stanley Byal, Des Moines; two grandsons, Jeffery Scott and John Richard Byal; two brothers, Denver Byal, Mingo, and Roger Byal, Newton, and three sisters, Mrs. Madge Phelan, McCallsburg, Margie Byal, Indianola, and Margaret Byal, Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, in infancy.
The son of Henry and Martha Byal, he was born Aug. 15, 1909, at Mingo and was educated in rural and Mingo schools.
He was married to Faye Minear Feb. 24, 1939, in the Little Brown Church at Nashua.
