Services for Clarence J. Johnson, 59, who died of cancer Thursday at his home, 1110 E. Twelfth St., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Born in Marion County, Mr. Johnson was a Des Moines resident 20 years, formerly living near Runnells, where he farmed. Before his retirement six months ago he was employed at the Des Moines Co-op Dairy for 20 years.
Mr. Johnson was a past president of the board of trustees of Bethany Lutheran Church, a member of Teamsters Union Local 387, the Prize-of-Iowa Credit Union board and of the Des Moines Co-Op Dairy’s 20-Year-Club.
The body is at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
Surviving are his widow, Ruth; two sons, Jack of Des Moines and Robert of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Tagatz and Mrs. Sue Addy, both of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Grace Miller of Prairie City, and nine grandchildren.
