Harry Martin Rites Thursday
Services for Harry B. Martin, 79, of 2501 S.W. Seventh St., who died of complications following a stroke Monday at the New Haven Nursing Home, 5608 S.W. Ninth St., will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Martin, a pipelayer for the Park Avenue Plumbing Co., was born in Des Moines and lived here most of his life. He had been ill three months.
He was a member of Pipelayers Union Local No. 431. On Feb. 21, he and his wife celebrated their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary.
Surviving are his widow, Margaret; three sons, J. C., Harold R. and Harry, Jr., all of Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Margie Mallatt and Mrs. Gladys Beem of Des Moines, Mrs. Hazel Morris of Norwalk and Mrs. Marion Knudson of Omaha; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and here great-great-grandchildren.
