Lewis D. Miller and Pearl E. Miller
Lewis D. Miller, 95, of Prairie City, a lifelong resident of the Runnells and Prairie City areas, died at Clearview Manor Tuesday, April 11, 1995. His wife, Pearl Elizabeth Gulling Miller, 82, died Wednesday, April 12, 1995 at Des Moines General Hospital.
Joint funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 14 at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Marvin Ingle conducted the services. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Wayne of Runnells; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are Mr. Miller’s brother, Charles of Ivy, and his sister, Icle Hawkins of Newton.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harry, and two sisters, Mable Baker and Ony Vaughn.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her husband.
Mr. Miller was a farmer in the Runnells area until he moved to Prairie City 20 years ago. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. Mr. and Mrs. Miller were members of the Camp Center Church of Christ in Runnells.
Mr. Miller was the son of Dave and Emma Blood Miller, and was born in Runnells.
Mrs. Miller was the daughter of James and Myrtle Perryman Gulling, and was born August 20, 1902 in Des Moines.
The Millers were married May 27, 1920 in Des Moines.
