Services Held
Funeral services for Francis Pulver, 79, of Runnells, a lifetime resident and longtime Jasper County farmer, were held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16, 1981, at the Monroe First Baptist Church. He died Monday Sept. 14 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
The Rev. Eldon Pals, pastor of the church conducted the services. Interment was in Vandalia Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie; two sons, Marvin of Runnells and Verlin of Crete, Neb.; three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Norma) Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. Marvin (Mildred) Gilbert of Prairie City, and Mrs. Bob (Audrey) Murry of Artesia, Calif.; three step-children, Mrs. Bob (Ethelyne) Jones of Des Moines, Francis Gillaspie of Downers Grove, Ill., and Eugene Gillaspie of St. Charles, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three sons, six sisters; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
Mr. Pulver, a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church, had served on the District 4 School board of directors for many years.
The son of William and Lucy Burnett Pulver, he was born Sept. 30, 1901, in Vandalia.
He was married to Dessie Gulling Feb. 21, 1924 and to Jennie Gillaspie Sept. 7, 1968.
