Roxie Faye Gulling was born on February 9, 1893, near Runnells. She departed this life at 90 years, 8 months and 25 days. Her parents were Thomas D. and Caroline West. She lived her entire life near Runnells in Jasper and Marion counties.
Roxie met and married Ben Gulling in 1909, and to this union one daughter, Gladys Ruth was born. Roxie and Ben were married for 61 years before his death 13 years ago. They farmed all of their married life in the same community.
After Ben’s death, Roxie remained on the same farm until her health failed her a year and a half ago, and she went to live with her daughter, Gladys Ruth (Johnson), in Des Moines.
