Des Moines – Funeral service for Gerald Raymond Gulling, Jr., 40, of Des Moines, a former resident of Jasper County, were held today at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, conducted services and burial was in Vandalia Cemetery.
He died Thursday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are two sons, Gary Ray and Billy Joe, both of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Aimie of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving six sisters, Loretta (Mrs. Gerald) Miller of Des Moines, Patsy (Mrs. Edward) Lawton of Thorntown, Ind., Betty (Mrs. David) Spencer of Thatcher, Utah, Helen McClish of Des Moines, Sherry Gulling of Harrisville, Mo., and Kathy Kelly of Denison; and a brother, Tim Ackley, of Marion; and three step-brothers, Charles Williams of Mingo, Bill Williams of Omaha, Neb., and Robert Williams of Anita.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Larry.
Mr. Gulling, the son of Gerald Raymond Sr. and Florence Hemminger Gulling, was born Sept. 22, 1947 in Des Moines.
He was a self-employed cement worker.
