Died – At her home in Prairie City, Friday, July 21st, 1876, Margaret Draper, wife of Hon, Ira E. Draper, in the 32d year of her age.
The deceased was born in Highland county, Ohio, Dec. 29, 1844. Her parents moved to Camp township, Polk county, in 1850, lived there until 1854, when they moved to Vandalia. Her father died when she was in her sixth year.
They were married Dec 29, 1862 and lived in Vandalia until 1870 when they moved on their farm living there a year when they came to this place. Mrs. Draper was loved by all who knew her, and her circle of acquaintances was large. She had less than two weeks before her death returned from a pleasure trip with her husband through the east visiting the Centennial and other points of interest. The trip having been taken during the extremely hot weather had exhausted her physical strength somewhat and an attack of congestion of the stomach prostrated her on a bed of sickness from which she departed to that home where “sickness never enters and sorrows are unknown.”
She leaves a husband and two little boys to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.
