Chester Davis Funeral Set
Services for Chester E. Davis, 73, of 2525 Logan Ave., who died of cancer Sunday at Mercy Hospital after a two-year illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, a painter and decorator, was with the Thorpe Decorating Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1962. Born at Woodward, he lived here 60 years and was a member of Sheridan Park Evangelical United Brethren church and Painters Union Local 246.
Surviving are his widow, Gertrude; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Zinzer and Mrs. Jean Keller, and a son, Charles L., all of Des Moines; a sister, Edith N. Casner of Hayward, Cal.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
